Lamine Yamal continues to set record after record at FC Barcelona and also with the Spanish national team. In the starting XI for the 4-1 victory in the last 16 of the 2024 European Championships against Georgia, at the age of 16 years and 354 days the Barça winger is the youngest player ever to take part in the tournament knock out stages.

After already becoming the youngest ever player for the national team and the youngest ever goalscorer, now Lamine Yamal heads the list for the youngest ever participants  in the knock out stages in the prestigious European tournament.

Lamine celebrated the new landmark by providing an assist for Fabián Ruiz to make it 2-1 to kick start a comeback for the Spanish national side after they had fallen behind against a Georgia side who have been the surprise of the tournament.

Just days before his 17th birthday, Lamine now heads a list of the youngest players ever to appear in the knock out stages ahead of England's Jude Bellingham, Germany's Musiala, his team mate Pedri and English striker Marcus Rashford.
