Barça Atlètic have bounced straight back after their unbeaten run came to an end in Salamanca by defeating Lugo 1-0 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, the only goal put in his own net by visitor Andrés Castrín.
But Barça's own players also made no end of attempts of their own to score, with two of the best early chances falling to the highly active Pau Víctor and Unai.
But Lugo were by no means dormant, and Astralaga was called upon on copious occasions to provide his goalkeeping services, with some ewasteful finishing from the visiting side also helping to keep the score at 0.0 at the break.
But Barça too were not ticking their chances away, and the more they failed, the bolder the Galicians seemed to become, and we had a real game on our hands that could easily have swing either way.
But Rafa Marquez has some fine forwards at his disposal, and Lugo were under serious pressure in the final quarter of the game. At long last the ball found the back of the net when Moha struck and Castrín's attempted clearance ended up landing in his own goal. With fifteen minutes left to play, a second Barça goal looked more likely than a Lugo equaliser, and Pau Víctor would have had it five minutes from the end had the Lugo keeper not miraculously managed to get a foot in the way.
The vital three points mean that Barça Atlètic hold onto second place in the table.
