At the age of 17 Pau Cubarsí continues to write his name into the record books, this time with the Spanish national side. The Catalan defender made his debut on Friday in a friendly against Colombia in London, coming on in the 83rd minute of the game to replace Aymeric Laporta.
Luis de la Fuente's team went down to a 1-0 defeat against the South American but the bright spot was a debut for the blaugrana aged just 17 years and 60 days.
Three youngest all blaugranes
Proof that La Masia is continuing to make an impact on world football can be seen when we note that the three youngest players ever to represent Spain have all come through the youth system at the Club. Leading the way is Lamine Yamal who played his first game at just 16 years and 57 days.
Cubarsí is now second on the list at 17 years and 60 days with Gavi in third at just two days older.
Other U20 debutants
Continuing down the list we see that five other blaugranes made their debuts for Spain as teenagers. Ansu Fati was just 17 years and 308 days when he made his first appearance for La Roja. Bojan Krkic (18 years and 13 days), Pedri (18 years and 120 days), Munir (19 years and 7 days) and Alejandro Balde (19 years and 36 days) complete the list.
