Xavi demands more

FC Barcelona really needed all three points from their trip to Valencia and Xavi Hernández was far from happy with a third consecutive failure to win. And the coach was very clear in his belief that the reason for that was his team's wastefulness in front of goal.
Squandered chances
"We need to demand more from ourselves" he told the press after the final whistle. "We are not effective enough. Whether it's the final pass, our shooting... today things went really badly because we got into very clear positions to finish off the game. We aren't performing to the required level and we need to be more self-critical."
"But that doesn't mean that I don't still have the utmost confidence in my players. The thing is that they are lacking the confidence to score those goals when we need them. We got so many things right that should have won the game, and it's so frustrating."
Point not enough
"We have just given away two points. We are bringing home one that I'm very unsatisfied with. That was a huge game and we had it under control. We should have sentenced it with a second goal. We can't squander chances like that."
"But I am still calm. I am just as optimistic as ever. Today I'm disappointment because that was a game we should have won, but we are still on good course"
