It was not to be for FC Barcelona despite going ahead in the first half of the Clásico against Real Madrid, the blaugranes went down to defeat following Jude Bellingham's injury time winner for the visitors. After the game Barça coach Xavi Hernández appeared in his post-game press conference. "It's a shame," he said, before adding: "It was an unlucky game for us, we didn't deserve to lose. We are frustrated and angry, but we have to move on."
"We have moved forward with our game and we played well and we deserved more. But that is football: when you don't take your chances, that can hurt you."
Xavi continued: "We had 60 really good minutes, but after that we dipped, perhaps due to tiredness. What we planned came out well, but the key to the game was in front of goal: if we had got the second then it would have been different."
Despite the defeat, the FC Barcelona boss was keen to look to the future: "We have to just think about Real Sociedad now, recover and rest. We have to improve where we did not do well, even though we did not deserve to lose and we had the game in our hands."
