New Barça signing Lucy Bronze is a European Champion. The England international was part of the team that beat Germany in the Euro2022 final at Wembley in front of 87,192 fans with Chloe Kelly's goal in the first half of extra time handing the hosts a 2-1 in victory after the game had ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.
Extra time decides
After a goalless first half in which both countries had opportunities to take the lead, the game came to life when substitute Ella Toone put England ahead on 62 minutes with an excellent finish, the striker lobbing the ball over German keeper Frohms after a defence splitting pass from Keira Walsh.
Germany did not panic and Lina Magull levelled things up on 79 minutes after a swift move down the right hand side saw the striker finish neatly at the near post.
The game saw no further clear cut chances and entered extra time. After a goalless first half, England took the lead in the 111th minute when Chloe Kelly poked home from close range. With Barça full back Lucy Bronze on the field for all 120 minutes, the host nation held on to take the win in front of a partisan crowd in London to claim their first ever European title.
Geyse Ferreira, champion with Brazil
Another new signing, Brazilian striker Geyse Ferreira, played the final few minutes in her nation's 1-0 win over Colombia in the final of the Copa América.
