DALLAS, Texas — Robert Lewandowski has had a whirlwind first week at FC Barcelona. Introduced just six days ago in Miami, he made his debut 72 hours later in the Las Vegas El Clásico, and on Monday afternoon he appeared at his first press conference in Dallas. "If you play for Barça, it's normal to think about winning all the titles,” he said in response to the very first question.
The Polish striker believes that it must be done "step by step,” from training session to training session and match to match, but he is convinced that "this season will be much better than last.”
"If you look at our potential, I think we can have a chance to win everything,” he said. “We have great potential.”
Lewandowski also referred to the young players who are rising. "The young players on the team are very hungry and want to give their best performance,” he said. "I get along very well with my teammates. Everyone has helped me and it means a lot to me. I'm here to show the best of me."
Lewandowski also talked about the future. He was asked about the 8-2 game and the day he scored four goals against Real Madrid, but the Pole is only looking ahead. "Now I'm part of Barça and it's a new chapter and a place to do new things,” he said. “It's not time to look back."
Lewandowski also answered the question of how many years he sees himself playing for Barça. "The tests I have undergone say that my body is younger than my age. I don't know how many years I will play at the highest level, but it will certainly be a few", he said.
