It wasn’t just another match—and it didn’t feel like one. Barça had to settle for a thrilling 3–3 draw against El Pozo Murcia at the Palau, on a day marked by tribute to Dr. Carles Miñarro.
"Always your family, Doc"
The sudden death of the man who was working this season as doctor for the senior football team, but who had worked with the futsal squad for the past seven seasons, has deeply affected the team this week. Before kickoff, players and staff held a banner reading “We’ll always be your family, Doc”, with his family watching from the stands.
Good start
Just two minutes in, Antonio opened the scoring, lifting a shirt bearing Miñarro’s name and the number 7—his years with the team. He struck again in the 17th minute with a volley, notching his 16th league goal to become top scorer in the competition, and Barça looked in total control.
Things suddenly go wrong
The Palau was also entertained by several key saves from Pau López, the young keeper stepping in for injured Feixas and suspended Dídac. But momentum shifted in the second half. El Pozo struck three times in three minutes: a deflected shot by Valerio, a long-range equalizer by César, and a scorcher from Rafa Santos (2–3).
In a flash, Barça had gone from a commanding lead to being a goal down.
Point salvaged
Barça responded with a five-man attack, and Fits made it 3–3 in the 37th minute. In the frantic final moments, El Pozo cleared a last-gasp winner off the line. The draw ends Barça’s four-game winning streak. They couldn’t offer the win to Dr. Miñarro—but left everything on the court. Next up: a shot at redemption in the Copa de España, which Murcia themselves will be hosting.
