Mapi León and Alexia join the tour in Mexico

Two top quality players have joined the Barça Women pre-season touring party in Mexico, namely Mapi León and Alexia Putellas, the first World Cup winner to return to work. Both players arrived together to meet up with coach Jonatan Giráldez and the squad, and have now completed their first training session on Mexican soil, in preparation for the games against América and Tigres on 29 August and 1 September respectively.

A very busy day for Barça in Mexico

The central defender and midfielder joined the squad for what proved a very busy day full of all types of activities. The squad were put through their paces with a double training session, with a press conference sandwiched in between featuring Jonatán Giráldez, Caroline Graham Hansen and Marta Torrejón, including a shared donation of items with América.

Reunion with Pereira and a great day for culers

Former blaugrana Andrea Pereira was one of the Mexican side's representatives and she saw many of her former teammates again, as can be seen in some of the gallery photos at the end of the article. Furthermore, the Barça fans were able to savour the atmosphere up close, because the first training session was open door, and there was also a meet & greet, when they could talk with some of the players, have photos taken, or have jerseys signed.

All in all a very happy day, with welcomes, reunions, and celebrations of all things FC Barcelona in Mexico, with excitement about the European club champions' visit clear for all to see.
