Irene Paredes has extended her contract with FC Barcelona until 30 June 2025. The Basque player's current contract expired at the end of the current season and she put pen to paper for another two years in the presence of president Joan Laporta in the president's office at Spotify Camp Nou.
The 31 year old from Lepgazpi in Guipúzcoa came to Barça 18 months ago from Paris Saint-Germain where she was club captain. Since then she has become a fixture in the side making 57 appearances and scoring eight goals.
“I am really happy to have extended my contract. It's where I want to be, where I am still leaning and I hope to keep contributing."
"It's a recognition that the team has confidence in you. I am really happy and I try to help on and off the field and I hope to be here for two more years."
"I have the best team mates that you could hope to have. I still think we are the best team in the world and so I want to remain here to win trophies."
