After Yusuf Demir and Alejandro Balde got their first starts for Barça on Monday, another youngster was named in the starting XI for Thursday’s game in Cádiz.
Gavi, just 17 years and 49 days old, has become the second youngest player to start for Barça in the 21st century.
The only younger starter was Ansu Fati, who was a mere 16 years and 318 days when he lined up against Valencia on 14 September 2019.
Playing on the left side of midfield and showing plenty of mobility and reading every move brilliantly, he was one of the most active playmakers on the park.
With the number 30 on his back, he played for 72 minutes before being relieved by Nico González. He had made 64 passes, a tally only surpassed by Sergio Busquets (77).
