FC Barcelona and its Foundation mobilize resources and deploy various solidarity actions in collaboration with specialized entities to support areas affected by DANA

FC Barcelona, through its Foundation, has deployed a series of solidarity actions to support the areas most affected by DANA, which hit the Valencian Community and other parts of the Spanish State hard at the end of October. These actions include financial aid, solidarity auctions and direct collaboration with specialized entities such as the Red Cross, Caritas and the Banc dels Aliments.

President Joan Laporta has also been in contact with penyes in the area to inform them that the Foundation, through its director Marta Segú, made itself available from the outset to specialized social entities to ensure that the basic material reached the affected areas. Since the beginning of the crisis, Joan Laporta has stressed that “it is important to coordinate efforts to prevent collapses of humanitarian corridors and that those who want to help do so through the channels established by these entities that are experts in emergencies.”

In addition, both the President and the director, Marta Segú, have been in contact with the mayors of Paiporta, Benetússer and Catarroja, three of the most affected Valencian towns. On behalf of the club and the Foundation, it has offered financial support and direct collaboration in the reconstruction of social facilities and basic services that have been affected. The funds provided by the Foundation will be allocated to specific rehabilitation projects in these localities, depending on the specific needs that are identified in the coming weeks.

To add more resources, FC Barcelona auctioned the signed t-shirts of the players of the first team of the match against RCD Espanyol, as well as other sporting goods of interest to the fans, who raised nearly 90,000 euros.

This Sunday, on the occasion of the Barça - Valencia League match, the Club took the opportunity to expand the number of actions in this line. During the match, various actions were carried out to raise funds and implement the help of FC Barcelona and its Foundation to these populations. One of the central actions was a second collection of the t-shirts worn by the Barça players during the match, all signed, which will form part of a second online solidarity auction.

In addition, during the match, a message was broadcast both on television and on the stadium's video scoreboards offering the possibility of making a donation through Bizum 10758 or through a QR code that appeared on the video scoreboards.

It has also been made available to Barcelona members and fans in general the possibility of making a donation through Row 0 in solidarity, which will also go to the populations affected by DANA. This option is available on the Club's online ticketing channels for all of the Club's professional sports, as well as on the Museum's, which leads to a form with the different donation options.

Throughout this period, Marta Segú, director of the Foundation, has been following very carefully the aid needed by the population affected by the emergency and especially in the rehabilitation of safe spaces so that children and adolescents can continue playing and playing sports.
