Barça 99-57 Beijing Ducks: Big win in China

A strong start to the first game of the tour with all of the new players getting games

The first game of the Chinese tour and of the Peñarroya era was a comfortable victory over the Beijing Ducks at the Qianjiang Century City International Basketball Summit 2024 in Hangzhou, where FC Barcelona will also be meeting Bàsquet Girona in two days time.

With Jan Vesely out with appendicitis and Tomas Satoransky rested, the highlights were the chance to see Juan Núñez and Chimezie Metu both getting their first starts.

Yousoupha Fall, Kevin Punter and Justin Anderson were further new faces that were introduced later on a game that the Catalans never looked like losing. Álex Abrines got 12 points in a first half that Barça commanded +17, making the rest of the game merely academic.

With Punter particularly demonstrating his class, Barça kept cruising after the restart, and Peñarroya made sure he rotated his whole squad to give playing time to as many of his charges as possible. The game itself ended with an immense 42 points separating the two sides.
