Voltregà Movento Stern 2-3 Barça: Leaders put to the test

The start of the return fixtures in the OK Liga ended the same way as in the season opener – with a Barça victory. Last week saw David Cáceres' side complete 13 consecutive wins since the start of the season and that run was extended today. The 2-3 win against Voltregà Movento Stern saw Eloi Cervera, Pablo Álvarez and Ferran Font score the goals for Barça in the first half.

It wasn't easy by any means, which was expected given the opponent needed to move off the bottom of the table, but Barça put in the effort and remained solid in defence to claim another win.

Good start for the blaugranes

A very strong start by Barça culminated in a counterattack with Pablo Álvarez assisting Eloi Cervera for the opener (0-1, min 4), before the former finished a rebound for a goal of his own (0-2, min 6).

Voltrega already had nothing to lose and stretched the game, pressing more, but it was Ferran Font who ended up scoring next (0-3, min 21).

Voltregà reaction

However, Voltregà did find a goal before the break to cut into the early lead. It came after a blue card for Pablo Álvarez, Àlex Rodríguez with the finish (1-3, min 23). Now in the second half, a penalty by Arnau Canal (2-3, min 26) emboldened thoughts of a comeback for the home side.

Barça weren't as effective and Voltregà seized the moment. They pressed for an equaliser to the end, and although the blaugranes also had chances for another, the score remained unchanged. They were made to work hard for the victory, but the impeccable winning record in the OK Liga remains intact.
