FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid will be going head to head in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, with the first leg at the Estadi Olimpic on February 25 at 9.30pm CET and the return kicking off at the same time on April 2 at the Metropolitano. Blaugrana dominance

The teams have crossed paths 14 times in the competition before, and Barça lead the series 8-4. And the more recently we look, the better the results have been from a Catalan point of view.

The most recent cases, in 2009, 2015 and 2017, all ended in Barça victories, the first two coinciding with the famous treble-winning campaigns of 2009 and 2015.

In 2009, Pep Guardiola was in charge as Barça first won 3-1 at Atlético's old Vicente Calderón and then finished off the job with a 2-1 victory at Camp Nou.

In 2015, the manager was Luis Enrique and after a 1-0 win at home in the quarter final first leg, Barça marched off to the capital to win 3-2, and 4-2 on aggregate.

The most recent cup matches between the pair were the 2017 semi-finals, with Barça again winning in Madrid, this time 2-1, followed by a 1-1 draw at home. And once again, Barça went on to win the cup, beating Alavés in the final.
