FC Barcelona to face Barbastro in the Copa del Rey

Hansi Flick's team will have their last 16 one legged tie on 3,4 or 5 January

FC Barcelona are to face Barbastro in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey on 3,4 or 5 January, their first game of 2025. The game will be played over one leg only. 

Founded in 1934, the Aragonese team are in group 2 of the Segunda Federación, the fourth tier of Spanish Football, where they are currently in 16th place on 13 points. The team is coached by Daniel Martínez and this season Guillermo Alonso, Marc Prat and Andrés Barrera Baigorri are top scorers with three goals each. 

Giant killers already

In the previous round of this season's Copa del Rey, Barbastro knocked out Barça's city rivals Espanyol with two goals from Sito settling the tie in the Campo Municipal de Deportes Barbastro. In January a rematch of last season's last 32 tie awaits them against an FC Barcelona side who had to be at their best to beat Barbastro 3-2 away from home in the 2023/24 Copa del Rey.
