Barça U19s 2-2 (5-3 pens)- GNK Dinamo Zagreb: Last 16 place via penalty shoot out

The Barça U19s are in the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League after eliminating GNK Dinamo Zagreb in a penalty shoot out after the game had ended 2-2 in the 90 minutes. Hugo Alba and Quim Junyent scored the goals in regulation time with keeper Diego Kochen the hero in the shoot out.

Goals from corners

The Croatian got off to a great start when they took the lead from a corner. Jakirović found the net with a header from close range to put Zagreb in front. Three minutes later Barça were level. Hugo Alba, also from a corner, poked home a loose ball after a shot from Cuenca to make it 1-1. 

Still in the first half Jakirović once again put the visitors in front with another header, this time from a free kick, on the half hour mark. The blaugranes laid siege to the Zagreb goal before half time in search of the equaliser and just before the break they received their reward. A move involving Espart and Virgili ended with Quim Junyent making it 2-2 in the 44th minutes. 

Juliano Belletti's team had the better of the game in the second half but there was no way through a disciplined Croatian defence. The best chance fell to Jan Virgili after a good pass from Walton but the Barça number 7 could only shoot wide.  

Decided from the spot

No goals in the second half left the game at 2-2 at full time and so a penalty shoot would decide who made it to the last 16. Keeper Diego Kochen made an excellent save to deny Bakovic's spot kick to hand the blaugranes the advantage. Juan Hernández scored the winning penalty to send Barça into the next round.
