Players pay last respects to Núñez
Before heading to their Tuesday training session, the FC Barcelona first team visited the Memorial Space set up in honour of the late president of Josep Lluís Núñez at the Camp Nou.
In Wednesday’s Copa del Rey second leg against Cultural Leonesa (9.30pm CET), the players will be wearing black armbands in recognition of a man who was in charge of the club for 22 years, from 1978 to 2000.
The club has declared four days of mourning, during which all flags on its premises are flying at half mast.
The Memorial Space will be open to all visitors from 10.00am to 9.00pm on Tuesday and from 10.00am to 2.00pm on Wednesday.
The footballers are not the only Barça team to have paid their last respects to Nuñez. The roller hockey team also visited the memorial this morning, and all of the other professional, youth and amateur teams are also due to be represented.
