“Everyone in Bangladesh loves Barça”, he told the club media on what is not the first occasion that he has visited the club.
“The fact that I am standing here makes me a hero for them. They look up to Barça. It is something that is way up in the sky. They enjoy the games. Every player is a hero for them. It’s an amazing thing, they are glued to the screens.”
Asked about Barça’s potential, he replies: “Why don’t we use this tremendous power of sport for social good? So that sport is not just entertainment and something commercial, but we are working on how to use its social potential to transform some aspects of society.”
Yunus: “Messi is an example”
As for Lionel Messi, Yunus is of the view that “he is a global personality, He’s the greatest sports hero in the whole world. One of the greatest sportspeople of our time. He has a tremendous amount of influence on millions of young people. Whatever he does will be imitated because he sets an example for everybody.”
