Deportivo La Coruña no pushovers at Camp Nou

Barça are back in league action this weekend after the recent break for international fixtures as football returns to Camp Nou for the first time since the 1-1 draw against Atlético Madrid some 24 days ago. Facing Luis Enrique’s team is a demanding run of six matches in all competitions.

Deportivo La Coruña will be the first of those half dozen encounters when they visit Camp Nou on Saturday. The team now coached by Gaizka Garitano have made life difficult for the blaugranes on their last two trips to Barcelona. Two seasons ago Depor arrived on the final day of the season with Barça already crowned league champions. The visitors produced a late come back from two down that day to claim a point that allowed them to avoid relegation. 

Last season the fixture came in December and once again the home side went 2-0 up. In a repeat of the previous season’s campaign, Depor fought back to claim a point with a brace of late goals. As such, Luis Enrique will be under no illusions with regards to the challenge facing his side on their return to La Liga action just four days before they entertain Manchester City, also at Camp Nou, in the group stages of this season’s Champions League.
