Camp Nou produces great results in January
FC Barcelona have a solid La Liga record at Camp Nou in January. With Luis Enrique as manager, Barça have won all of their games in the opening month of the year, and are currently on a 13 match winning streak since Villarreal managed to get a point in 2009.
The numbers speak for themselves: 26 wins and two draws in the last 28 games. The last defeat was against Valencia on 18 January 2003, losing 4-2 in Van Gaal's last game as manager.
There have been 23 different opponents throughout the run. Athletic Club and Racing Santander have faced Barça the most times (3) and it was from when the Basques picked up a draw in 2003/04 that the Catalans went on a win streak until 2009, when Villarreal earned a draw.
Under Luis Enrique, the winning run continued as he guided the team to a 3-1 win over Atlético Madrid, while last year saw three wins in as many games: 4-0 over Granada, 6-0 against Athletic Club and another over Simeone's side (2-1). Las Palmas will be the only side visiting Camp Nou in the league this January and the team will be hoping to continue their good form in the first month of the new year.
