Luis Enrique: Valencia are always tough opponents

FC Barcelona prepare to face Valencia at home on Sunday, so Luis Enrique fielded questions from the media.

Shortly after holding the team’s final training session before the game, here is what the manager had to say about a variety of topics surrounding Barça:

On Valencia

“Looking back at past encounters, they are an opponent who always cause us problems. Even though they are not high up in the table, they have players of the highest level. They are tough opponents.”

On the title race

“I believe it will be decided in the final weeks of the season because it is the most decisive part and the calendar, for those who are in European competition, is brutal. Also, the teams at the bottom manage more points in the final stretch.”

On the Champions League quarter-final draw with Juventus

‘In the quarter-finals, you cannot expect an opponent who is not well-known. We all think about the final in Berlin against Juventus. They have made changes, but they continue to be a fearsome opponent.”

On Andrés Iniesta

“I think we saw the best version of Andrés at the start of the season. Later, he suffered two bad injuries and we have tried to be careful, as we always are, so he can carry on getting minutes.”

On squad rotations

“We have to count on the whole squad.”
