Training with sights set on the Gamper Trophy
Preparations for the new season continued today at the Ciutat Esportiva following Friday’s friendly with Nàstic. All the available first-teamers took part in training, and were joined by two faces from Barça B in the shape of Carles Aleñá and Adrián Ortolá.
Thomas Vermaelen took no part in the session having gone off injured in the first half of the Nàstic game. He suffered a knock to his left leg, and was replaced on the night by Marlon. André Gomes, a second-half substitute, also suffered a knock on his left hip and both players' fitness is being evaluated.
The squad will train again on Sunday morning is a closed session ahead of Monday’s Gamper Trophy clash with Chapecoense, which kicks off at 8.30pm CET. After that, the competitive action begins with the Spanish Super Cup encounters with Real Madrid.
