ASPTT Albi – FC Barcelona Women: Comfortable 4-0 away win for Blaugrana ladies
FC Barcelona’s women’s side cruised through their fourth preseason test with a resounding 4-0 victory away to ASPTT Albi. Alexia scored a penalty and Claudia Pina added the second before the break, while Andonova also scored from the spot before Andressa Alves completed the scoring.
Barça dominated the opening half against the French first division outfit, and had several chances in the opening half hour through the likes of Bárbara Latorre, Pina, Andonova and Olga, before Alexia Putellas hit the woodwork on 28 minutes. Three minutes later, Alexia would open the scoring following a foul on Latorre inside the area.
Pina doubled the Blaugrana’s advantage right on the stroke of half-time, but the scoreline scarcely reflected the degree of control enjoyed by Fran Sánchez’s side up to that point. The second half would continue in a similar vein, with a host of chances for the visiting side.
The only surprise was that it took Barça until the 83rd minute to strike again, when Andonova dispatched the ball from 12 yards. The next would follow just four minutes later as Alves capped off yet another impressive victory ahead of the new season.
With 30 goals scored and none conceded in their friendly encounters, the real business begins on 25 August with the clash against Europa in the Copa Catalunya (8.00pm CET).
