Palma Futsal – FC Barcelona: Into the quarters despite resistance (0-2)
FC Barcelona Lassa didn’t have an easy time of it in the first match of the 2017/18 futsal Copa del Rey on Tuesday evening, but they were eventually able to defeat Palma Futsal Son Moix (0-2). Joselito’s goal just before the break, and Rafa López, virtually at the end of the game and when Palma were attacking in search of the draw, ensured the win for Andreu Plaza’s team.
Some fantastic defending from the hosts throughout ensured that Barça Lassa had to fight until the very end to guarantee their passage into the quarterfinals. The visitors dominated the first half and should’ve gone ahead through Rivillos and Aicardo before Joselito finally opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Palma pressed heavily after the break but without success. The closest they came was a shot by Fávero three minutes from time, which was well saved by Sedano.
As they continued to go in search of a late equaliser, Barça Lassa’s rapid counter-attack saw Rafa López (0-2, min 40), complete the scoring.
