Javier Mascherano has a right hamstring injury
The Barça defender was hurt during Tuesday's Argentina-Nigeria friendly
FC Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano has suffered an injury to his right hamstring, the Club confirmed on Wednesday following medical tests carried out at the team’s training center in Sant Joan Despí. The 33-year-old Argentinian was hurt during Tuesday night’s international friendly against Nigeria. The match was played in Russia, the host country of next summer’s World Cup. Mascherano is expected to be out for around four weeks.
Mascherano played all 90 minutes of the game, which Argentina lost to Nigeria, 4–2. He has played 10 games for Barça this season; six in La Liga, one in the Copa del Rey, two in the UEFA Champions League, and one in the Spanish Super Cup.
