The scoring starts for FC Barcelona's Brazilian stars
Philippe Coutinho had only been on the pitch for a matter of minutes as a second half substitute in Thursday’s cup semi-final second leg against Valencia and he had already got his name on the scoresheet.
The strike off a Luis Suárez assist came in his fifth appearance in the famous blaugrana jersey, following league and cup games against his former club Espanyol, a Liga fixture with Alavés and last week’s first leg against Valencia.
An impressive list
It means he joins a stunning array of fellow countrymen to have netted for the Catalans over the years, including such club legends as Romario, who scored a hat-trick on his debut at the Camp Nou against Real Sociedad in 1993.
Three years later Ronaldo announced his arrival on the scene with a stunning brace in the 5-2 win over Atlético Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup.
Ronaldinho scored his first ever goal in a Barça shirt on his debut at Camp Nou in the 1-1 draw against Sevilla that famously kicked off at five past midnight. More recently, Neymar’s first strike came in the Spanish Super Cup in a 1-1 draw in the Calderón against Atlético that was enough to hand the blaugranes the title after a 0-0 draw in the second leg at Camp Nou.
