Córdoba CF - FC Barcelona B: A comeback at the death (1-2)

The culers won a tough game thanks to the goals of Aleñá - a penalty - and debutant, Nahuel Leiva, with virtually the last kick of the match

FC Barcelona B secured a great victory against Córdoba (1-2) at the Estadio Nuevo Arcángel, thanks to a goal right at the very end of the match. Narváez’s opening goal was cancelled out thanks to Aleñá - with a penalty - and Nahuel Leiva with virtually the last kick, meaning Gerard Lopez’s side have now won three consecutive games to move away from the relegation places.

Domination without reward

The visitors started the game frantically, and had a great chance to score in the first minute of the match. A superb individual piece of skill from debutant Nahuel Leiva deserved a reward but goalkeeper Kieszek was equal to the task. Only three minutes later, Aleñá had the goal at his mercy but his shot went wide.

Continuing to dominate, Barça were unlucky when Nahuel hit the crossbar in the 25th minute, and just 10 minutes later the Andalusians went ahead with their first meaningful attack. A similar pattern continued in the second half, albeit Barça’s chances were few and far between. Even so, Marc Cardona’s fall in the area handed the visitors a lifeline, courtesy of a subsequent penalty decision. Carles Aleñá made no mistake (1-1, minute 77).

Comeback

Two more debutants - McGuane and Hongla - came on for Oriol Busquets and Carles Pérez, and just when it seemed that the match would end in a draw, a great pass from Marc Cardona fed Nahuel who made no mistake.
