Copa del Rey final at Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid
The climax to the competition will see FC Barcelona take on Sevilla on 21 April at Atlético Madrid’s stadium
The final of the Copa del Rey now has a venue. The game between Sevilla and FC Barcelona will take place at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, the home of Atlético Madrid. The decision was announced on Monday after a meeting at the Spaish Football Federation’s headquarters in Las Rozas.
The date of the final is Saturday 21 April with the kick off time still to be announced. It will be the first final to be played at Atletico’s new ground, a venue that has a capacity of 67,829 and that will also host the UEFA Champions League final in 2019.
Barça have played just once before at Aletico’s new stadium, recording a 1-1 draw in this season’s league meeting last October.
