Miles Barron (1912)
Barron succeeded Billy Lambe, the Club's first ever coach in their history. In September 1912 FC Barcelona contracted the services of a specific coach for the first time when they brought in this Englishman and Barron came from England to answer the request from Joan Gamper. Even though he had never been a player himself, he was no stranger to the world of football as he had been manager of West Auckland Football Club
On 25, 26 and 29 December 1912 FC Barcelona played three friendlies against West Auckland Wanderers, a team put together by Barron and which included several players from West Auckland FC. The visiting squad included Jack Alderson who would eventually replace Barron as coach after the latter decided to return to the North East of England and his career as a colliery surveyor.
