Patrick Stephan Kluivert
The Dutch striker (Amsterdam, Holland, 1976) came through the youth ranks at Ajax, going on to great success with the first team before joining AC Milan for a season and then Barça in the summer of 1998. As a blaugrana he scored 145 goals in 308 matches, making him one of the top scorers in the Club's history
As a blaugrana he scored 145 goals in 308 matches, making him one of the top scorers in the Club's history. He was described by coach Louis van Gaal as the “perfect striker”, a good summation of an extraordinary forward who stood out for his agility and vision. He was excellent with his back to goal also, a talent that allowed to create as well as score goals. In fact, he was more of a creative midfielder who played as a striker than anything else.
Kluivert loved to drop deep and link up with his team-mates as well as being an excellent finisher. Technically and physically he was a complete player who spent six seasons as a blaugrana before leaving for Newscastle United in 2004.
