Hansi Flick has 'positive expectations' for FC Barcelona in the Champions League
Hansi Flick couldn't be happier with "the great job" done by his team to win 3-1, and 4-1 on aggregate, against a Benfica side that didn't make things easy in Tuesday's Champions League last 16 second leg, especially in the first half.
"I am very happy that we've qualified" said the German after the final whistle. “It is very important for us to now only think about the quarter final. It is very difficult to win the Champions League, but that's what we hope to do."
"There is no other way to play when you play for Barça than the way we do" he continued. "We have positive expectations ... But we must take everything game by game. There is still a long season ahead."
Flick was especially impressed by Lamine Yamal this Tuesday. “I'm very happy for him" he said. "He hadn't scored for a while and today he scored a very important goal for us."
Another man singled out for praise was MVP Pedri, who "is able to do so many things. He is in good form and that's nice to see."
