Barça 5-1 Madrid CFF: Fine Sunday afternoon
FC Barcelona notched up their 18th Liga F win by defeating Madrid CFF this Sunday at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, thus putting behind them the utter shock of having been beaten at home by Levante in their last game at home.
Goals from María León, Pajor, Vicky, Rolfö and Schertenleib overturned Bonsegundo’s early strike.
Before kickoff, the players walked onto the pitch with children recovering from cancer, part of the Blaugrana Wristbands initiative, while it was also a special occasion as Aitana was celebrating her 300th match for Barça.
Quick turnaround
Things on the field didn't get off to the best of starts when Madrid CFF struck early after a defensive error, but Barça quickly responded. María León equalised with a brilliant free-kick, and Ewa Pajor completed the comeback before halftime.
Vicky López extended the blaugrana lead with a stunning goal right after the break, followed by a fourth from Rolfö before Schertenleib finished off the day with her first ever goal for the club.
Now, the players are away for an international break, and won't be back in club action until March 2, when they take on Eibar.
