Gavi back to his best

Talent and passion plus goals and assists, the midfielder is back in the groove

It was a day that Gavi will never forget. After 348 days on the sidelines with a serious injury, the Andalusian took the pitch once again on 20 October 2024. It's now been 88 days since his return from a very long recovery, during which he has been gradually gaining minutes on the playing field, but clearly Gavi is now back to his best.

An ideal combination of talent and emotion make Gavi a key member of the squad. Despite the injury and long recovery process, the midfielder's desire and energy on the pitch has not dimmed at all.

Back with goals and assists

Hard work, desire, and passion have seen the Spaniard become a firm favourite with FC Barcelona fans. His commitment from minute one resonates with the fans, whose respect goes far beyond measuring his G/A output while on the pitch.

All the same, the midfielder is putting up some very good numbers. The blaugrana has scored two goals, provided two assists and made six starts in 17 games. What's more, his recent form over the last seven days has been out of this world. First he scored the opening goal in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic, before going on to provide the assist for Lamine Yamal. Then in the final against Real Madrid, Camavinga's challenge on him led to a penalty being awarded, which Lewandowski dispatched to make it 1-2. Gavi followed that up by scoring in the match against Betis. Brilliant performances that can prove a real watershed moment.
