Ter Stegen arrives in Jeddah to support his teammates
A team isn't complete without its captain, and although there are many players of such ilk in the Barça dressing room, the first captain is Marc-André ter Stegen. Recent months haven't been easy for the keeper, but he has taken some time out during his long recovery from the injury that will see him miss the rest of the season.
Captain comes despite injury
He did so for a good reason, namely to fly from Barcelona to Saudi Arabia to experience the Spanish Super Cup final first-hand. It also represents further motivation for his teammates, as their captain is showing his unconditional support.
Ter Stegen landed at around 9.45pm local time before travelling to the team's hotel in Yeddah to rest before a very important day for the squad. This means the German can be involved in the regular matchday activities, support his teammates throughout the day, and push the team on like every blaugrana from the stands at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
