Osasuna Magna Xota 3-5 Barça: Into the quarters!

A win for the Barça futsal team against Osasuna Magna in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey (3-5). The blaugranes were better than their hosts at the Pabellón de Anaitasuna throughout and now have their first triumph of 2025. Catela with three assists, and Antonio with a brace, were the standout players of the fixture.

Great start

The blaugranes started well. It was just the third minute when Antonio converted a good pass slid through by Catela to beat Asier Llamas (0-1). The domination continued as former Osasuna player Martel fired in after good solo work (0-2, min 10), and just two minutes later, Antonio found Pito who spun to make it 0-3 (min 12).

The home side didn't give up, though, as they grew into the game, culminating in scoring two in less than a minute to put themselves right back into it. Ligeiro scored the first with an individual goal, before Pachu picked up a rebound off Matheus, and it was 2-3. Same score at the break.

Catela assists, Fits and Antonio finish

Barça came back out as they started the game, the goal by Fits (2-4, min 22) from a Catela pass testament to just that. Catela continued his good moment by providing his third assist of the game for Antonio, who fired past Llamas for his brace to further extend the lead (2-5, min 28).

Into the quarterfinals

Still work to do despite the margin, with Xota pressing and probing as you would expect, and using a fly goalkeeper, which bore fruit as Ligeriro reduced the deficit by one after 38 minutes (3-5). Dídac was called into action in the final stages, but the blaugranes remained firm to go into the hat for the draw on 15 January.

Next up, the blaugranes have another away trip to Córdoba Patrimonio de la Humanidad for the Liga matchday 14 fixture (11 January, kick-off 7pm CET).
