The most European Christmas comes to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys with FC Barcelona v Manchester City

This Wednesday at 6.45om CET, the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys hosts the UEFA Women's Champions League in a huge clash between the blaugranas and citizens in search of the top spot in Group D after City won the first match 2-0 on English soil. Now, Pere Romeu’s side need to gain revenge by a two-goal margin to secure a seeded berth in the quarterfinals.

It's the first game the women have played at the stadium this season, their last visits being last season’s Champions League semifinal against Chelsea and El Clásico. And as expected, with the match taking place just before Christmas, the unique and special spirit of this time of year will fill Montjuïc with themed activities and a festive atmosphere.

Christmas Activities - inside and outside the Stadium

Spectators will be able to enjoy the Christmas party from when the gates open at 5:15. Outside the stadium, fans can find a Christmas Photo Booth and snow games in the grandstand area, along with Santa Clauses handing out team postcards in the lateral area. Flags will be distributed at the turnstiles, and the atmosphere will be set to the beat of a DJ, with speakers and MCs keeping the vibe alive both before the match and during halftime.

Christmas-themed contests and games will take place on the video scoreboard, as well as Fan Cams and the usual giant player flags for the starting lineup, alongside giant corporate flags taking centre stage. A special performance of the evening will feature Catalan singers Sofia Coll and Victor Arbelo, with a Christmas set at halftime and the Barça anthem before the match.

We will also have Pere Romeu as the announcer, and not forgetting the mascot CAT!

*Due to regulations beyond the control of FC Barcelona, the charity shower of cuddly toys planned for Barça Femení v Manchester City has been cancelled.

FC Barcelona is offering fans the chance to enhance their match experience with the STAR PASS, the VIP experience that's already a tradition at the Estadi Johan Cruyff and will also be available for this match at the Estadi Olímpic.

2 and a half hours before the match – 4.15pm for this game – fans with a STAR PASS will have the opportunity to take a photo on the pitch before the stadium doors open, which will be given as a Polaroid keepsake. They’ll also receive a Welcome Pack, and there will be food and beverages in the STAR PASS area. When the players arrive at the stadium, lucky fans will have the chance to experience it firsthand with a brief meet-and-greet. Once the doors to the Estadi Olímpic open, staff will guide them on how to continue enjoying this VIP experience.
