Barça Atlètic took an important win away from home against Osasuna to maintain their improved recent form and help them out of the relegation zone in the Primera Federación.

The game started with the home side having the better of the contest and after enjoying several chances to take the lead, and it came as no surprise in the 26th minute when Osasuna took the lead. Roberto Arroyo picked up the ball in the Barça penalty area and made no mistake to make it 1-0.

Reaction before half time

Albert Sánchez's team took the setback in their stride and before half time they were back on level terms. Dacosta took the ball to the edge of the box and then unleashed a shot that was saved by Osasuna keeper Valencia only for Guillermo Fernández to turn the rebound home to make it 1-1 at half time.

Barça came out in the second half determined to get something out of the game. Keeper Diego Kochen made two excellent saves to prevent Osasuna from retaking the lead. Just after the hour mark, Dani Rodríguez curled a ball into the box for Barça that was headed home by Unai Hernández to hand the blaugranes a 2-1 lead.

The final 20 minutes or so saw Osasuna pile on the pressure looking for an equaliser. Barça Atlètic had to defend well, especially at set pieces, to preserve their lead with keeper Kochen again impressive. The home side were unable to find a way through and the blaugranes took a vital win head of their next fixture against Bilbao Athletic on Sunday 22 December at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
