Hansi Flick: 'We have taken an important step'

Barça's German coach is more than happy with the win over Brest in the Champions League, a fourth in five matches in the competition

In his words Barça coach Hansi Flick described the 3-0 victory over Brest as "a very important win" at the Estadi Lluís Companys. "We have shown how we can be strong," added the blaugranes boss after picking up three points against the French club and moving above them in the Champions League table.

"Our objective is to finish in the top eight," said Flick in his press conference following the win over Éric Roy's team. Nevertheless, the Barça coach admitted there were still tough games to come such as their next fixture away at Borussia Dortmund, but "we are prepared for everything," added the German.

Before thinking about the game against the Bundesliga club, the coach summed up the performance of his team against Brest. "We dominated the game and we attacked and defended well. Pressing is part of our style and it is a quick route to goal. We did very well and we are moving in the right direction," said Flick after the win. Overall, plenty of positives for the coach and he admitted "this win allows us to pick up a bit of confidence," after two games without a victory.

For the boss Lewandowski and Pedri were "marvellous." Flick also highlighted the performances of Gerard Martín and Marc Casadó, concluding "we are all working hard and we have the right atmosphere to improve."
