St Pölten 1-4 Barça: Marching on triumphantly

Another win for FC Barcelona Women in the Champions League to take them on to nine points and closer to qualification. The blaugranes won well against Sankt Pölten, featuring a brace by Kika, and goals by Vicky and Alexia, the latter now reaching 200 goals for the Club.

It was just a question of time before Barça scored. Sankt Pölten were defending deep and playing on the counter attack, with Pere Romeu's side dominating possession and coming close to scoring from the off.

Blaugrana push

Kika Nazareth clearly wanted to break the deadlock, pressing hard, which paid fruits with the first goal. The number 18 then grabbed a brace after good work by Brugts. Vicky then warmed blaugrana hearts even more with a left-footed goal high into the net after a sumptuous back heel by Patri Guijarro. 0-3 in 30 minutes. 

Alexia scores to reach 200

The pace dropped somewhat after the break but Barça continued to control possession. A great move between Aitana, Kika and Alexia saw the latter extend her goal tally in blaugrana to 200. The Austrian side then scored to make it 1-4 after a free kick routine, but the game was already out of their hands.

FC Barcelona continued to press for more and despite the threat of counter attacks by St Pölten, the game ended 1-4. Another three points to make it nine in group D and a step closer to qualification for the quarterfinals.
