Sports Tomorrow Congress 2025 returns to MWC25, featuring FC Barcelona's Centre of Excellence
This coming March 3rd and 4th, the 2025 edition of the Sports Tomorrow Congress, an innovation-focused sports conference run by the Barça Innovation Hub (BIHUB), is being held in Barcelona. This annual event brings together global experts in R&D and technology to discuss the future of sports in these fields.
For the third consecutive year, the congress will be held as part of MWC Barcelona, the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event, which is hosted annually in the city. This is made possible, once again, thanks to the strategic partnership between FC Barcelona and GSMA, a global organisation that unites the mobile ecosystem to discover, develop and deliver the innovation that is foundational to positive business environments and societal change.
This year, BIHUB is taking its presence at the MWC a step further with a dedicated space at 4YFN, which has showcased and powered the startup ecosystem – from AI disruptors to visionary VCs and corporate change makers – for over 10 years at MWC. This will provide startups supported by BIHUB with a new way to present their projects to a global audience. In parallel, BIHUB is also collaborating with GSMA Foundry, the organisation’s innovation hub, to work jointly hereinafter on upcoming projects in this field.
From historical weight to future creation
This will be the eighth edition of an international congress that this year has adopted the tagline “Hold the roots, mold the next”, a slogan that closely ties in with the club’s 125th anniversary and will serve as a springboard for debate around ways to combine historical legacy and identity with a forward-looking, bold, and inspiring spirit.
FC Barcelona’s Center of Excellence is playing a specifically important role at the 2025 Sports Tomorrow Congress by showcasing experiences relating to talent management for athletes in order to spark discussions about the present and future of the football industry.
Online format now available
The latest edition of the Sports Tomorrow Congress will take place over two days at the Fira de Gran Via venue in Barcelona. Like last year, it will include a networking area and a large conference hall hosting ten thematic sessions designed to encourage dynamic exchange between experts and attendees.
The event targets professionals across the wide spectrum of sports disciplines and can be attended either in person (by invitation only) or via an online format, which is now available for purchase on the congress website.
