Amorebieta 2-1 Barça Atlètic: Agonising finale
After an extraordinary run of seven consecutive draws, Barça Atlètic have lost at Amorebieta in a game that was all about three late goals, two of which were frustratingly scored in the wrong net.
Playing on a field in poor condition, and which only got worse as the game went by, Barça were also struggling with fitness issues and absent internationals, none of which was helped by the loss of Trilli, who was on the wrong end of a vicious tackle and had to leave the pitch early, although there was encouragement when Víctor Barberà and Aleix Garrido came on as a substitutes to mark their returns from injury.
It was a very close, physical battle in which neither side was able to dominate the other, and although it was packed with chances, surprisingly few put either goalkeeper in real extreme danger.
It looked like the game was going to end in yet another draw, this time 0-0, but with just four minutes remaining Iván Cédric pounced on the rebound after Barberà's shot was blocked, and it looked like the reserves were finally heading for a win. But they weren't. Not even for a draw.
In injury time, Amorebieta stunned the visitors with two goals in the space of a minute, first Berto and then Coulibaly scored, and Barça Atlètic left the Urritxe field in utter disbelief. How on earth had that one slipped away?
