Barça 87-103 Paris: First European home defeat

The blaugranes try to keep pace with the in form French side but come up short in the Palau

 A first European defeat for Barça at the Palau this season as on Friday Joan Peñarroya's team lost 103-87 against Paris in the Euroleague. The French side impressed in Barcelona with their solid gameplan and TJ Shorts top scored with 24 points for Tiago Splitter's team. 

Strong start

The visitors began the game switched on; in contrast Barça struggled defensively and the French side helped themselves to a bucketload of points in the first quarter, taking a 31-18 lead into the second period. 

In the second quarter the game turned around and Peñarorroya's team upped the intensity. Àlex Abrines' three pointer gave them the lead at 38-37 and they extended that to 48-45 by half time. In the second half of the encounter both sides had periods where they dominated. Barça took an eight point lead at 58-50 before a scoring streak from Paris took them into the final quarter 73-70. 

Deciding quarter

The game was set for the final and decisive quarter. However, the Palau could only look on as Barça struggled and with two minutes left Paris enjoyed a 15 point lead. In the end the French side took an impressive 103-87 away win in the Euroleague to carry on their excellent debut season in the competition.
