Vicky López renews contract to 2028
FC Barcelona and Vicky López have agreed to extend the player's contract until 2028, at an event attended by president Joan Laporta, the director responsible for women's football, Xavi Puig, and Marc Vivés, sporting director of Barça women, ensuring that one of the world’s most talented young players will continue to showcase her skills in the club’s colours.
Since joining FC Barcelona in the summer of 2022, López became the youngest debutant in the club's history since the professionalization of the women's team, making her debut at just 16 years old. Over the last two seasons, she alternated between the first team and the reserves, playing a key role in winning two league titles and two Champions League trophies.
Now, at 18, she is fully integrated into the first team, already scoring three goals in the early part of the current season. Whether playing in midfield or attack, López is showing she is one of the brightest young talents in the world, and her inclusion as one of the 10 nominees for the Golden Girl award cements her future. Her contract extension ensures that her future with FC Barcelona is secure, at least until 2028.
