Barça Legends to play Real Madrid Leyendas on Tokyo on December 15
Next December 15, the Ajinomoto Stadium, Tokyo (Japan) will be the venue for a game between the Barça Legends and Real Madrid Leyendas at 2pm local time (6am CET), in their first ever meeting in Japan and just two weeks after they will have already played in Doha (Qatar) on November 28.
The star attraction is Andrés Iniesta, who only recently retired and is a beloved figure in Japan after spending five years at Vissel Kobe, but there are plenty of other exciting faces in the side coached by Albert Ferrer. There is Xavi Hernández, recently coach of the FC Barcelona first team and whose name is synonymous with Iniesta's, as well as Argentine favourite Javier Mascherano. Also making his debut is Mexican Rafa Márquez, coach of Barça Atlètic for the last two seasons. All four are going to wearing the blaugrana jersey for the first time since 2018 (Iniesta), 2015 (Xavi) and 2018 (Mascherano) and 2010 (Márquez).
As well as those new faces, we can also enjoy seeing the likes of Rivaldo, Bojan Krkic, Javier Saviola, Ludovic Giuly, Adriano, Gaizka Mendieta, and others.
About the Barça Legends
The Barça Legends programme was created in 2016 and is managed directly by the club. The idea is to bring together former stars in an ongoing project that contributes to the globalisation of the Barça name around the world, thus offering a platform to foster the club's famous values.
