Last week, the first phase of the selection process for new Barça Academy coaches took place at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Out of nearly 250 applications received, more than 85 candidates attended this event, where they were welcomed by Sergi Barjuan, the project’s sports director. The managers of the technical area then presented the project and told the attendees how the different assessment procedures function.

The day was divided into two distinct parts. The first was theoretical and took place in La Masia's Auditorium, and in the afternoon, the candidates interacted on the fields with the boys and girls from Barça Escola Barcelona. 

Candidatures open for the 29 Barça Academies

The candidates will now all be evaluated for inclusion in the Barça Academy project and the chance to go to one of the 29 academies that Barça has around the world and in the various elite centres in Catalonia. The Barça Academy has over 150 staff members dedicated to ensuring the transfer of the Barça methodology and philosophy worldwide.
