Joan Laporta: 'Barça's future is assured'

FC Barcelona president joined by Gavi, Balde and Fermín for the presentation of the new season of Barça One, discussing both the new shows and the current situation at the Club

It was the presentation of the new season of Barça One, and first team football players and members of the Board of Directors were in attendance at the Antiga Fabrica Estrella Damm. The event saw the new shows on the blaugrana platform discussed, plus the Club's current situation.

The event began with FC Barcelona president ​​Joan Laporta first calling for an emotional minute's silence in memory of the victims of the flooding caused by the extreme atmospheric conditions that impacted Albacete, Andalusia and Valencia. The president then thanked everyone present for coming and addressed the players by confessing that he feels that "Barça's future is assured thanks to your football and the affection for the club".

Midfield present and future

It's definitely been a day when Fermín has been in the spotlight. The blaugrana midfielder's delight with his contract renewal announcement earlier in the day was clear at the evening's event, as he stated "I am very happy to be part of the club for many more years".

He went on to emphasise that he feels very good with the team, the midfielder considering that sharing a dressing room with great teammates and friends is essential, as "many of us players were together in youth teams and that makes us a family on the pitch".

A highly anticipated premiere

In addition to the premiere of the second chapter of the series documenting his recovery from serious injury, many wanted to hear Gavi after his return during a euphoric week for the Club. The Andalusian kept his feet on the ground, explaining that although he is feeling "very good on the pitch, it's essential to keep progressing and get up to the same speed as his teammates".

Hangover from a magical week

Alejandro Balde also took to the stage with a beaming smile. He was first asked about the outcome of the games against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. As was to be expected, the fullback couldn't hide his joy, stating "I am very happy for the results and how the games went the other day".

Furthermore, Balde agreed with Fermín's thoughts, explaining that their youthfulness and how they get on with each other is one of the key reason's for the team's success, as "understanding each other on and off the pitch is important".
