Industrias Santa Coloma 1-0 Barça: Derby defeat

The home side score after one minute and the rest of the game produces no further score either way

After snatching a win in the final minutes against Manzanares, the futsal team went to local rivals Industrias Santa Coloma hoping for another victory, but they are coming home empty handed after failing to take their chances and ultimately being outwitted by a very tactically aware home side.

It was always going to be an uphill struggle after Álex Verdejo volleyed the home time into the lead after just 50 seconds.

Inspired by their returned captain Sergio Lozano from injury, Barça fought long and hard to get back into the game, with Dídac providential in the blaugrana goal. But when Antonio missed a double penalty, fear set in that this just wasn't going to be Barça's day. As the game drew towards a close, and with Fits and later Erick as rush goalies, Barça were throwing everything they could into the cause.

It was all perhaps a little too gung-ho, for Industrias remained intense and solid at the back, and although Barça did find the woodwork, they didn't find the goal. They'll rue the players missing through injury, but ultimately it's hats off to Santa Coloma, worthy winners on the day.
