FC Barcelona celebrate Aitana Bonmatí and Lamine Yamal achievements with ‘How to be the best’
On Monday evening, Aitana Bonmatí won her second consecutive Ballon d'Or, the most important individual award in football given out annually by the prestigious French magazine France Football. Furthermore, the Kopa Trophy for the best under-21 player has been won by none other than Lamine Yamal.
To celebrate their achievements, FC Barcelona has launched a campaign on social media 'How to be the best', a tribute to the two players who both came up through La Masia.
‘How to be the best’, success and development
The 'How to be the best' campaign takes the form of a series of videos and photographs where the stars show us how to be the best. Being the best in the world is something that they have learned and they show us just that via what could be everyday scenes, albeit with a veneer of creativity and a look inspired by fashion. In the pieces we find references to books, games and sport that also show the value of education, games and effort.
With the campaign, the Club wishes to remind members and fans, who may have wanted to be the best in a certain area or moment in life, that training is a vital aspect in order to achieve it.
FC Barcelona, development for people via sport
Training sportsmen and women is one of the keys to Barça's DNA. Fans all over the world know that la Masia is synonymous with getting across Barça's values of humility, effort, ambition, respect and teamwork. This model comprises sporting, personal and academic development to educate people via sport; these achievements show Barça's beliefs, a unique way of behaving and playing in life.
First shirt in Barça's history to celebrate the award
In addition to the campaign and in the form of a tribute, for the very first time Barça has designed a shirt to celebrate the individual success of a player at the Club with such important footballing awards such as the Ballon d'Or and the Kopa Trophy.
A short-sleeve shirt with a polo neck and the number 14 on the front, the Barça badge embroidered on the chest and the word Barça has been designed to commemorate Aitana's historic achievement in winning her second Ballon d'Or. The back of the shirt shows an illustration of the Catalan player with her name and a golden ball in the background.
Another shirt with the same design, in this case with the number 304 on the front to recreate Lamine's celebration every time he scores a goal and an illustration of him with his name and an emblem of La Masia on the sleeve, has been conceived for the teenager.
