Approval of the appointment of Ramon Estebe as Members Ombudsman
In accordance with Article 57.2 of the FC Barcelona Statutes, the Ordinary Assembly has ratified the Board of Directors' appointment of Ramon Estebe as the Members Ombudsman on July 24 with a three fifths majority (225 votes in favor, 12 against, and 29 blank).
Ramon Estebe i Blanch, member 50,258, succeeds Joan Manuel Trayter, who completed two five-year terms up to the end of last season. The new Ombudsman was born in Barcelona in 1965 and holds a degree in Administrative Law from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, specializing in civil and procedural law. He is currently a founding member of a law firm established in 1996 in Barcelona, where he, along with five other lawyers, economists, and other professionals in the accounting and labour departments, specializes in civil, sports, commercial, social, tax, administrative litigation, and criminal law.
He was part of the Competition Committee of the Catalan Football Federation in the futsal section in 2007. He has also held other positions in the sports sector, including: President of the Jurisdictional Committees for Competition, Appeals, and Sports Discipline of the Catalan Football Federation during the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons; member of the Legal Commission of the Catalan Football Federation in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons; member of the Sports Ethics Commission of the Catalan Football Federation (formerly known as the Anti-Violence Commission) during the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons; Vice President of the Catalan Football Federation on December 20, 2010, and President of the Catalan Football Federation in February 2011, responsible for presiding over the Managing Commission of the Federation during the electoral process in 2011.
Estebe is also a founding member of Drets, an association of lawyers defending Catalan society from attacks in the form of hate and insults, secretary of the Disciplinary Commission of FC Barcelona (2021-2024), and has been an FC Barcelona member since 1999.
The Members Ombudsman is a single-person, independent body of the Board of Directors, tasked with assisting, advising, and defending the rights of members in their relationship with the club, as well as developing and updating the club's electoral register.
